Are you homeschooling multiple children at the same time? It sure can seem overwhelming, but family style homeschooling makes it easy by bringing everyone together to learn the same topics at their own level.

Family Style Homeschooling
Family style homeschooling is when you teach multiple kids together instead of separately. Instead of each child doing completely different lessons, you group them together for the main subjects like bible, history, science, and literature.
One of the biggest family style homeschooling advantages is that it simplifies teaching by allowing multiple children to learn together, saving you time and effort. This approach makes homeschooling feel more connected and less overwhelming.
It not only saves time, it encourages sibling bonding, and makes learning more fun and interactive. With the right curriculum, this approach keeps learning engaging and adaptable no matter the age or learning style of your children.

Using Master Books for Family Style Homeschooling
You can choose curriculum options for family schooling that let your kids explore the main subjects together. My favorite Christ-centered homeschool curriculum to use family style is Master Books.

Master Book Subjects We Are Using for Family Style Homeschooling
I have 5 kids, aged 12 – 3. When someone asks what type of homeschoolers we are, it's a mouthful! We are Christ-centered, year-round, eclectic, family-style homeschoolers with Charlotte Mason tendencies.
We do ELA and Math as individual subjects while Science, History, Geography, and Bible are family-style. Our lives are always busy, so the days never look the same. Sometimes we start with our family subjects while the kids do handwriting or breakfast. Other's I'm cleaning up messes and we have somewhere to be so I have them focus on core individual subjects.
But right now, most of our curriculum comes right from Master Books! We use Language Lessons, America's Story, God's Design, Writing Strands, and so many other odds and ends from Master Books to enrich our days.
Language Lessons for a Living Education
Language Lessons for a Living Education is an all-in-one Language Arts curriculum to help your children build strong reading, writing, spelling, grammar and handwriting skills in a natural way.
The books have colorful, engaging lessons with a mix of fun stories, poems, Bible verses, read-alouds, picture study, copy work, hands-on activities, and simple memory work to make learning engaging.
It is completely open and go. All you need to do is just follow the easy daily schedule at the front of the book! The only planning required is if there is a cooking lesson in which you would need to make sure you had the ingredients on hand.
It’s designed for 36 weeks (or 180 days) with five lessons per week. You can adjust it to fit your family's needs and easily double up if you need to. The lessons are short and sweet, which helps with children that may get overwhelmed with lots of bookwork.
Since it only takes 15-20 minutes each day, it is easy to have your children working on different levels at the same time. It only takes a couple of minutes each day to review and check their work.
What grades are offered in Language Lessons for a Living Education?
When Language Lessons for a Living Education was first released, it only had 5 levels. It has been such a popular choice among homeschooling families that wanted to continue the series in the upper grades. It is now available in all grades K-12!
