Homeschool Resource Co. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operated by Digital Media Mama, LLC, operates as a homeschool marketplace connecting families with educational vendors and creators. Our website is intended for adults in the United States.

Information We Collect

  • Information you give us. Name, email, billing and shipping address, account login, order details, messages to support, reviews and comments, and applications from vendors, affiliates, and sponsors.
  • Payment information. We use PayPal and Stripe to process payments. We do not see or store your full card or bank account numbers.
  • Automatically collected information. IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products viewed or added to cart, referring website, and actions on our site. This is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar tools (see “Analytics & Advertising” below).
  • Email engagement. Whether you open or click our emails, collected through our email provider.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from uploaded images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies for one year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends your login for two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser indicating the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Analytics & Advertising (Cookies, Pixels & Similar Tools)

We advertise Homeschool Resource Co. and products from our Vendors on other websites and apps. To measure those ads and show them to people likely to be interested, we use these tools.

  • Google Analytics (site usage)
  • Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (Facebook and Instagram ads)
  • Google Ads tag / Google Merchant Center (Google Search, Shopping, and YouTube ads)
  • Pinterest Tag (Pinterest ads)
  • TikTok Pixel (TikTok ads)

These tools may collect the pages you visit, products you view or add to your cart, purchases and order value, device and browser information, and IP address. With the Conversions API, we may send a hashed (encrypted) version of your email address along with purchase events.

We use this information to:

  • Measure which ads lead to visits and purchases
  • Show our ads to people who have visited our site (retargeting)
  • Find new audiences similar to our customers
  • Avoid showing ads to people who have already purchased

Customer lists. We may upload hashed email addresses of customers and subscribers to advertising platforms to show or exclude our ads. Platforms match the hashed data and do not use it to learn your email address. To opt out, email [email protected].

Your choices:

  • Use the cookie banner or “Your Privacy Choices” link on our site to turn off advertising cookies.
  • We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a request to opt out of targeted advertising.
  • Adjust your ad settings directly with Meta (Facebook/Instagram Ad Preferences), Google (My Ad Center), Pinterest, and TikTok.
  • Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features, like login and cart, need cookies to work.

Do Not Track. Browsers’ “Do Not Track” setting has no common standard, so we rely on GPC and the choices above instead.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

  • Vendors and contributors, to deliver your order or freebie and provide support, and to send you marketing.
  • Service providers who run our business for us, such as hosting, WooCommerce, PayPal, our email platform (Kit/ConvertKit), Google Analytics, Cloudflare, and customer support tools.
  • Advertising partners such as Meta, Google, Pinterest, and TikTok, through the tools described in “Analytics & Advertising.”
  • Affiliates, who see only that a sale was made through their link, not your contact details.
  • Legal and safety reasons, such as responding to legal requests, preventing fraud, or enforcing our Terms.
  • Business transfers, if our business is sold or reorganized.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some state privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to include advertising cookies and pixels. You can opt out of that at any time (see “Your choices” above).

Our website contains affiliate links to products and services we recommend. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. These links use cookies to track referrals. You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer not to participate in tracking.

Vendor and Creator Communication

When you make a purchase, download a freebie, or sign up for a resource from a vendor or contributor on Homeschool Resource Co., your contact information (such as your name and email address) may be shared with that creator. This allows them to deliver the resource, provide support, or share related materials.

By completing a transaction or opting in to a free resource, you consent to receive follow-up emails directly from that vendor. Each vendor is required to comply with all FTC, CAN-SPAM, and email marketing regulations, including clear unsubscribe options.

Our Vendor Terms prohibit Vendors from selling or sharing your information and require them to honor unsubscribe requests. We encourage you to review the vendor’s own privacy policy or contact them directly for questions about how they handle your data. Internal Use

When you make a purchase, sign up for a freebie, or access a presale item, you will automatically be subscribed to Homeschool Resource Co.’s email list. We use this to:

  • Deliver your digital purchases and updates
  • Notify you of upcoming sales or events
  • Provide information about new homeschool resources
  • Measure and improve our website, emails, and advertising

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop order or account emails.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children may use products purchased by a parent, but children should not create accounts, submit reviews, or provide personal information. How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve future comments automatically.

For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Order and payment records are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting (generally seven years). Email subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we don’t email you again. Advertising data is kept according to each platform’s retention settings.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of your personal data, including any data you have provided to us.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, except data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

State privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states), you may have the right to:
