Vendor Content Guidelines

Last Updated: March4, 2026

At Homeschool Resource Co., we're here to equip homeschool families with resources they can trust — so we hold our vendors to high standards. When you sell here, you're not just offering a product — you're becoming part of a network of creators who value integrity, originality, and excellence.

These guidelines are here to help you succeed and protect the families we serve. Please read them carefully, as they are incorporated into and form a binding part of your Vendor Terms & Conditions.

Table of Contents

1. What Can I Sell?

We accept a wide range of high-quality, original resources that serve:

  • Preschool through high school students
  • Homeschool parents — planners, devotionals, encouragement resources, how-to guides, and more
  • All homeschool methods — Charlotte Mason, classical, unschooling, unit studies, eclectic, and everything in between

Both faith-based and neutral content is welcome. We ask that each listing clearly state what type of content it contains so families can make the best choices for their home.

Vendors may sell both digital and physical homeschool resources. All content must be original — no PLR or non-custom semi-exclusives.

2. Faith-Based & Sensitive Content

We're a marketplace that welcomes faith-based products, but we also serve a diverse homeschooling community. If your resource aligns with a specific religious worldview (e.g., Catholic, Christian, Jewish, etc.), simply state that clearly in the product description so families can make informed choices.

Faith-based content is welcomed and celebrated here. However, all content — faith-based or neutral — must remain respectful of the families we serve. Content that demeans, mocks, or actively undermines other sincere faith traditions is not permitted.

3. Prohibited Content

The following content is not permitted on Homeschool Resource Co. under any circumstances:

Ideological & Worldview Restrictions

  • Content that promotes or includes themes related to LGBTQ+ ideologies
  • Witchcraft, occultism, or mysticism
  • Satanic or anti-Christian themes
  • Secular content that mocks, demeans, or undermines sincere religious faith
  • Political content or partisan messaging of any kind — this is an educational marketplace, not a political platform

Age-Appropriateness & Safety

  • Violent or graphic content of any kind, including depictions of war, crime, or harm that are not age-appropriately framed for educational purposes
  • Adult or mature themes — even non-explicit content that is inappropriate for a family or child audience
  • Content that promotes, normalizes, or references drug or alcohol use

Content Integrity

  • PLR (Private Label Rights) content
  • Non-customized semi-exclusive materials
  • Copied or adapted resources from others without explicit permission
  • Fully AI-generated content with no meaningful human authorship, editing, or refinement (see Section 4)
  • Any content unrelated to homeschooling

If you are unsure whether your content falls into a prohibited category, please contact us at [email protected] before submitting.

4. Originality & AI Use

We believe in creativity with integrity. All resources sold on Homeschool Resource Co. must be original works — created by you, for the homeschool community.

What We Require

  • All resources must be 100% original and created by you.
  • You may use AI tools as part of your creative process — for brainstorming, outlining, drafting, or refining — but the final product must reflect your own judgment, expertise, and voice.
  • Every product submitted must be thoughtfully reviewed, edited, and refined by a human before listing. AI output alone does not meet our quality or originality standards.
  • Product descriptions, titles, and listing copy must also be reviewed and written (or meaningfully edited) by you — not submitted as raw AI-generated text.

What Is Not Allowed

  • Fully AI-generated products — resources where the content is entirely produced by an AI tool with no meaningful human authorship, curation, or pedagogical input
  • AI-generated product descriptions submitted without review — all listing copy must reflect your own voice and be reviewed for accuracy before publishing
  • Selling AI-generated content as a standalone product — for example, a worksheet pack, lesson plan set, or activity bundle marketed as “AI-written” or where AI output is the primary deliverable with no substantial human enhancement
  • PLR content, non-customized semi-exclusive materials, or content adapted from others without explicit written permission

Disclosure

Disclosure of AI use in your product listings is not required, provided your product meets all quality and originality standards above. What matters is that your resource is genuinely useful, educationally sound, and reflects your creative work — not how it was drafted.

5. Trademark & Copyright Rules

Respect intellectual property. You may not use any brand names, characters, logos, or other trademarks that you don't personally own or have licensed. That means no “Disney,” “Star Wars,” “Minecraft,” etc., unless you have explicit written permission from the rights holder.

This applies to product content, cover images, preview graphics, and product descriptions. When in doubt, leave it out.

6. Product Pricing Rules

Effective March 4, 2026, all paid products listed on Homeschool Resource Co. must be priced at a minimum of $3.00 USD. This policy exists because HRC covers all transaction and processing fees on behalf of vendors — products priced below $3.00 cost the platform more in fees than they generate in revenue.

  • Free products (freebies) are exempt from the $3.00 minimum — see Section 7.
  • Any existing paid products currently priced below $3.00 will be automatically adjusted to $3.00 by our team on April 1, 2026. You will be notified when this happens.
  • All new paid product submissions after April 1, 2026 must meet the $3.00 minimum at the time of submission or they will not be approved.
  • HRC reserves the right to update the minimum pricing threshold in the future. Vendors will have seven (7) days to comply with any pricing changes before listings are adjusted.

7. Free Products (Freebies)

Vendors are encouraged to offer free resources — they're a great way to build your audience and give back to the homeschool community. Free products must follow the same content and quality standards as paid products.

  • There is no limit on the number of free products you may list, with one exception: vendors on the Free Vendor Plan will have free listings count toward their 10-product cap.
  • Free products must be clearly marked as free in the listing.
  • Freebies may not be used to circumvent the $3.00 minimum pricing policy — for example, listing a paid resource at $0 with a required “donation,” bundled upsell, or mandatory email capture attached to the download.
  • Free products are subject to the same approval and content review standards as paid products.

8. Digital Product Delivery Standards

Homeschool Resource Co. is optimized for digital PDF delivery. PDFs are the only file type that can be uploaded and delivered directly through the platform. All other digital products must follow one of the two approved off-platform delivery methods below.

Off-Platform Content (Courses, Videos, Apps, Memberships)

If you sell courses, video content, apps, memberships, or any other resource hosted outside the platform, you may still list these products on Homeschool Resource Co. Delivery of access must follow one of the two methods below:

Option 1 — PDF Instruction File

Upload a PDF that includes step-by-step instructions for accessing your content. This might include:

  • A checkout link with a unique coupon code
  • Login credentials for a private portal
  • A direct link to password-protected content

Option 2 — Private Page Redirect via Order Notes

Use the Order Notes feature to provide customers with:

  • A link to a password-protected page on your website
  • The password, delivered automatically in the customer's order confirmation email
  • Any additional instructions for logging in or redeeming access

Vendors are responsible for maintaining access links and keeping passwords current. Your product listing must clearly explain how delivery works so customers know exactly what to expect at checkout. Listings that do not clearly communicate delivery method may be removed or asked to update before going live.

9. Quality Standards

Every product on our platform should reflect care, effort, and genuine educational value. Here's what we expect from all listings:

  • Age-appropriate and educationally accurate content
  • Clean formatting and a thoughtful, readable layout
  • Proper grammar and spelling throughout — including in product titles and descriptions
  • Clear, honest, and helpful product descriptions that accurately represent what the buyer will receive
  • Cover images and preview graphics that are original, professional, and do not use unlicensed third-party branding
  • Accurate grade level, subject, and homeschool style tags so families can find your resource easily

Products that do not meet these standards may be removed or returned for revisions before being published.

10. What Happens If I Violate the Guidelines?

We're here to help you succeed — not surprise you. If something isn't quite right, here's how we handle it:

  1. You'll receive a clear warning and explanation of what needs to be corrected.
  2. You'll be given seven (7) days to resolve the issue. For pricing violations, automatic adjustments may be made on your behalf.
  3. If the issue remains unresolved, your product — or your account — may be deactivated.

Certain violations — such as selling prohibited content, trademark infringement, or submitting fully AI-generated products — may result in immediate removal without a correction period.

We're always happy to clarify before you submit. If you have questions about whether your product meets our guidelines, reach out at [email protected] — we'd rather help you get it right than remove it after the fact.
