This novel study for Heidi by Johanna Spyri has one page for every chapter and aims to enhance reading comprehension, review a form of figurative language, and review or learn new vocabulary words – all while still enjoying the book! A full answer key is included.

*Heidi was originally written in German by author Johanna Spyri. At the time of this note, there are at least 14 translations. I used an unabridged copy of Heidi that translated proper nouns to English. The goats are called Little Bear and Little Swan instead of Schwanli and Barli, and Klara is spelled Clara.

If you find that the vocabulary for a certain chapter does not match the vocabulary in your book, simply skip the vocab part (or have the students do it anyway to increase their vocabulary knowledge:).
