This is a self-paced course with 8 lessons and downloadable graphic organizers as well as a rubric for parent to grade final writing piece.
We will work on personal narrative/creative story writing, focusing on one skill per week. Each pre-recorded lesson will demonstrate a key element of writing that will improve the student’s writing skills. Topics include: using an outline, adding details, creating reader interest with a problem, creating reader interest with a solution, introducing new characters in your writing, describing characters, using emotion to develop your story, and finally how to revise and edit your draft. I love to write and would love to help your student grow to love it as well!
The culmination of the course will include creating a final writing piece which the parent/guardian can then grade using a writing rubric.
I have taught for 21 years which includes 15 years in a public elementary school and 6 online; I am certified in Pre-K through 5th grade. I am very experienced and am prepared to help your child improve their writing skills.
