The 12 Days of Gingerbread Language Arts Countdown is a festive, hands-on way to review key language arts skills with your 1st–3rd grade students — in just 15–20 minutes a day!
Each day, your children open a new gingerbread-themed surprise and completes a short ELA review activity while building and decorating a Gingerbread Man.
Students will learn about nouns, verbs, adjectives, compound words, prefixes, suffixes, punctuation, rhyming, synonyms, sequencing, and dialogue — and finish the countdown by writing their own Gingerbread Story.
This engaging holiday literacy countdown doubles as a festive school room or refrigerator (wink wink) display! By the end of the 12 days, your Gingerbread Man will be fully built — complete with gumdrop buttons, candy cane arms, frosting swirls, peppermint punctuation, speech bubbles, and a story in hand.
