Instant Download Assembly Instructions (These are included in the download.)

Paper dolls © 2012-2025 by Leslie Gammelgaard and Susan K. Marlow; all rights reserved

Materials: (available from Walmart)

  • two 3/4” ultra-thin Velcro™ “hook” circles (or ovals) for Andi and Riley
  • fourteen (or more) 1/2” ultra-thin Velcro™ “loop” dots for the clothes
  • one-quart Ziploc bag for storing the paper dolls
  • a scissors (for the clothes) and a utility knife (to make the slits in the hats)
  • (optional) laminating sheets for extra protection

Instructions: (It is recommended that an adult cut out and assemble the pieces.)

  1. Cut out the figures and stand strips. Clip the gold lines on the figures where indicated. To stand, slip the strip ends into the cuts, so the strip forms a half-circle behind the figure.
  2.  Peel the two ¾” Velcro™ hook pieces and attach where indicated on the two doll figures.
  3. Cut out the outfits. Use a utility knife to slit the hat pieces.
  4. It is important to attach the ½” Velcro™ loop dot to the back of the outfit in such a way that it lines up with the large Velcro™ hook piece on the doll. Here is the trick:
  • Position the loop dot in the center of the hook piece on the doll—Velcro to Velcro.
  • Peel the paper from the dot, exposing the adhesive.
  • Line up the outfit against the doll and press firmly. The adhesive should stick to the back of the outfit.
  • Gently pull the outfit away. Repeat with the other outfits. There is one extra Velcro dot.

Fun Extras: Laminate the sheets before cutting out the dolls and clothes to make them almost indestructible.

Buy “waver-thin” Velcro™ hook and loop pieces. Attach a small hook piece between the dolls’ ankles (and loop dots on the longer outfits) for extra support. Add hooks to Taffy, and loops on the apple, carrot, and bucket. Add hook pieces to outfits, and loops on the flowers and books. Use your imagination!

Design your own clothes by tracing around the outfits on plain white paper. Color, cut out, and attach a Velcro™ “loops” piece to your new outfit.

Cut a piece of yarn or string to use as a halter and lead rope.
