Description

Electricity and Magnetism is Unit 8 of Physical Science: Matter, Energy, and Interactions (Grade 8), the Letters & Devotion Science course, complete in one printable PDF: 10 lessons, the unit check-up and the answer key, 62 pages.

• Charge transfer as the cause of static electricity
• Conservation of charge
• The distinction between current and voltage
• A closed series circuit
• Current paths in series versus parallel circuits
• Non-contact force, comparing magnetism and static electricity
• Electromagnetism: current producing a magnetic field
• Electromagnet applications in an unfamiliar device context
• Current path and voltage difference in an unfamiliar real-world scenario
• The integrated circuit-and-static-electricity performance task

Every lesson is written for a parent with no teaching background: it opens with a short script to read aloud, names the specific wrong idea a student is likely to reach for and how to correct it, and closes with a practice sheet you may copy for your household.
