Description

Endocrine review is hard to target. The glands, the hormones, the feedback loops and the clinical correlations all get lumped into one unit, and when a class underperforms it is rarely clear whether the problem is gland location, hormone target tissue, or the direction of a feedback loop. Without that information, review time gets divided evenly across material that most of the group already has, while the one or two genuinely weak areas get the same ten minutes as everything else. This set is built to show you where the group actually stands before you decide how to spend the review. Inside are 52 multiple choice questions arranged in three parts. A 12-question diagnostic, Form A, samples all five content areas: gland identification and location, hormone function and target tissues, hormone imbalance and clinical correlation, metabolism, growth and stress response, and negative and positive feedback loops. A matched 12-question retest, Form B, covers the same areas at the same difficulty with different stems. Between them sit 27 practice questions grouped by content area so you can assign only the sections that need work. You also get a scoring table that maps each missed diagnostic item to its content area, a fact sheet listing the misconceptions students bring to this unit, and an answer key that explains every option, correct and incorrect. A typical run takes a week or two. Give Form A at the start of the unit review, score it against the table, and read the totals by area rather than by student. Teach or reteach the one or two columns that stand out. Assign the matching grouped practice sets as classwork, homework, or small group work, and use the misconception fact sheet to frame the discussion when you go over them. Close with Form B and compare the area totals against the first pass. Two things make this different from a question bank. The per-option explanations name the specific misconception behind each wrong answer, so when a student picks the distractor you know whether they confused anterior and posterior pituitary secretions or simply reversed the feedback direction, and you can say so out loud without reconstructing the reasoning yourself. And because Form A and Form B are matched item for item by area and difficulty, a change between the two reflects understanding rather than memory of the first form. Every answer was independently verified before publication. Fifty-two questions passed that check. The ones that failed were removed rather than reworded. This suits anatomy and physiology instructors at the high school, undergraduate, and allied health preparation level, and it works for anyone teaching an endocrine unit who wants group level data before planning review. It is a text based question set: there are no labeled diagrams, no lab activities, and no lecture slides, so if you need visual gland identification exercises or hands on work you will want to pair it with something else. It also assumes students have already been taught the material once. It is a review and diagnostic tool, not a first exposure to endocrine content.
