Welcome to Creature Tales Unit Studies for Young Learners
I create story-based activities and crafts for PreK and Kindergarten, with resources for 1st and 2nd grade learners, too. Designed for homeschools, co-ops, and families learning together at home, my animal unit studies bring literacy, science, and hands-on exploration together. Every resource starts with a story and ends with a craft, with plenty of learning and exploring in between.
I'm Alana Anderson. I homeschooled my children from 1996 until my youngest graduated in 2019, taught science and math in our homeschool co-op, and since 2020 have taught ESL, ELA, phonics, reading, and foundational math online. Over the years, I've learned that children learn best when they are curious, actively involved, and able to connect ideas across subjects. That's the philosophy behind everything I make.

My preschool resources are developed with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF) in mind, and my kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade resources include Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) connections where applicable.
