This resource is primarily for teachers and parents of preschoolers that love animals and want to learn more about them.

What children learn:

Children will learn about bees getting ready for winter as they listen to the read-along and practice story comprehension skills as they work through the activities. They will also practice fine-motor skills as they decorate their own bee craft mask.

What makes it useful:

Throughout my years as a mother and an educator, I’ve heard children ask “why?” and “how?” to so many things in life and nature. This little learning resource grew out of one of those kinds of questions: “How do bees get ready for winter?” I wanted to give young learners a fun way to explore the answer through a story, activities, and a craft.

Supplies needed for craft:

1. Card stock (if available)
2. Printer
3. Scissors
4. Colors
5. String or ribbon
6. Tape, glue, stapler, or hole punch

Supervision is recommended.
